Reflection: Character is most important because it's what defines how people will determine their long term feelings about you. You can be attractive and stupid and people will only see you as eye candy but not want to trust anything to you or want to be around you for more than they have to be. But if you're smart and have personality, it shows people that you are more than just a carbon copy of a person. You have thoughts and ideas and can think for yourself. In the end, everyone forgets the pretty people. The thinkers are the ones remembered. Character never changes, a good character is timeless. You are treated the way you treat others. When all the riches are gone, and beauty turns into wrinkles, all you have left is character. You should always have good character throughout your entire lifetime.

Example: If you see that there is a mess on the kitchen table, you should do your part. If you just walk past it without cleaning it, then you are not doing your part.

Reflection: I agree with this quote by Alexander Pope. It shouldn't matter if those around you don't act their part, you should only worry about doing your own part. If you do your own part, you will be taken care of by yourself. If you act well, honor will come to you on its own. It is always honorable when you CTR 24/7. You should always be a CTR person no matter the situation. You will be honored by those around you for making the decision. Even if everyone around you is Choosing the Wrong, you should stand alone by Choosing the Right.Choosing the right isn't just a motto, its a way of life. If you choose the right 24/7, you will find true happiness inside of your heart, and be very successful in your bright future. :)

Example: If you decide to be involved with people who smoke and like to drink at parties, then you will fall under the influence of them. This is a very good example of teens CHOOSING THE WRONG. However, if you decide to surround yourself with people who get good grades, and CHOOSE THE RIGHT, then you will be okay because they have a good influence on you.

Reflection: If you care about the reputation you have around others, then you should surround yourself with honest, kind individuals. If you surround yourself with people who don't Choose the Right, then eventually throughout the course of time, you will stop Choosing the Right. You should always choose to follow the crowd who are kind, responsible, honest, loyal and safe. You should never follow a crowd that has a bad reputation because you will be seen as disrespectful, unkind, dishonest, and rude. Even if you think you are a good person, once you're seen around people that Choose the Wrong, people will label you. They will label you as an individual who is Choosing the Wrong and not Choosing the Right. If you are seen in a crowd where everyone is Choosing the Right, then you will be labeled as a person who is headed down the path of success. Even if you are standing alone, if you Choose the Right 24/7, you will be taken care of. Even if you feel lonely or sad, you should still abstain yourself from bad individuals who you think are your so called "friends." It is better to be alone than in company of those who CHOOSE THE WRONG.

Example: Those who are choosing the wrong, drinking alcohol or injecting heroin, believe that they are truly happy come from the effects these harmful substances have on their brain. This is a deception because true happiness only comes to you when you do good.

Reflection: The example above also relates to what Abraham Lincoln has expressed, those who do good feel good. He states this to show that if you do good, you will feel good. It also goes for if you do bad you feel bad. If you are a CTR person 24/7 you will find true happiness in your heart. However if you are a CTW person, you will not find happiness anywhere. Once you feel the goodness of Choosing the Right once, you will continue to do it because you will love the feeling. You will love the feeling you get of putting good out into the world. CTR isn't just a saying, it's a way to life. If you always CTR you will always be happy. If you CTW you will always be unhappy.

Example: If you steal some flowers from the market and give them to your mom for her birthday, even though it was seen as a kind act, it was still wrong because he CTW in the first place.

Reflection:This quote means that you could never go wrong by choosing the right. Choosing the right is a motto to life. If you CTR 24/7 you will be happy in your heart & successful in life. If you choose the right you will not have feelings of being guilty. You could never feel good when you do something bad.When you do something bad and try to make it into something good, the final result will still be bad. You should think twice before you act on doing something that you should not do.Another example of this would be if you are stealing money from your parents. You should not steal because stealing is choosing the wrong. You could never feel good about yourself when you CTW. It will lead you down the path of failure in life. You should always CTR so that you will be successful in life and reach your biggest goals.

Reflection:  What this quote means is that enthusiasm can change a whole situation. Having enthusiasm is a wonderful trait to have because it shows that you are eagerly ready to learn/do a task. Enthusiasm is the energy, the fuel, the blazing fire that brings about a successful result. Enthusiasm is like a magnet. It attracts to you those things that you set out to achieve. It creates the conditions for a successful result. It enables you to take advantage of the opportunities as they present themselves.Also, being enthusiastic can be fun, which is way different that being confident. Enthusiasm creates a passion in everything you do. In order to be a successful individual you need to be ready to listen with open ears, and learn with an open mind. Those who lack enthusiasm will get lower grades rather than those who have enthusiasm.  Enthusiasm is like a magnet. It attracts to you those things that you set out to achieve. Reflection: The way to live a worthy life is to have good karma.Dreams aren't always achieved on the first opportunity of success. It wouldn't matter if you achieved you're dreams by cheating, the only way that matters is if you are leading your dreams the right way. Dreams will come to you if you CTR 24/7.This also doesn't mean that we wait for our greatest ambitions, it means that if you do you're part of the work, the rest will just flow to you.Accomplishing dreams takes good character, determination and handwork. Without one of these things, your dreams will not be achieved. Good karma will come back to you if you are a CTR person.

 If you choose the wrong path such as drugs, you will do poorly in school and not accomplish your goals. If you choose to go down that wrong path, your dreams will not come to you, and you will have bad karma. However if you choose the right path, you will study hard in school and be an honest, kind person your dreams will come in time.This also will lead to good karma because you are doing good. You should always be honest when it comes to achieving your goals. If you are a cheater, it will get you nothing but failure in life. Choosing the right just isn't just motto it a way to life. If you let CTR guide your life, then you will be happy within your heart. CTR will always lead you to success. CTR AND NEVER GO WRONG !!

Reflection: Something that is important for achievement, along with intelligence, is character. This is because if you are a mean person, you're intelligence isn't enough for people to want to be around you. They would rather be with a person who is intelligent, but also has good character. For example, if you are hanging out with someone intelligent, and they are choosing the wrong then you should walk away immediately. Even though they are smart, it doesn't mean that they are a CTR person. You should hang out with someone who has a CTR character, and is also intelligent. You should ALWAYS be around intellectuals that have character. Another example of choosing the right, is having a CTR intelligent student help you with homework. This shows that they have good character and that being around them will better you. Whats even better than an intelligent individual, is an individual with a good, healthy mindset. The goal of true education, is to be smart, but also having a kind, honest faith that lies within you. Choose the right, and never go wrong !

Example. A bike need two inflated tires to travel. If one of them is flat they will not go very far.  One tire represents intelligence. The other represents character. If you are intelligent but have bad character, chances are your bike will come to a complete stop and stop you from reaching your destination.

Even if you don't benefit from it, you should always choose the right.Another example of doing the right thing is obeying your parents.You should always listen to your parents because it is the right thing to do.

Doing the right thing shows you are honest and responsible.The right thing may not always be easy to do but you should still do it. This quote is explaining that there will be no consequences for actions that are right. For example, if you do you're chores at home, you will not need to fear that your mom will scold you.Another example would be if you believe in the Lord and pray often, you will not be scared in the dark.

You should always be a CTR person whether there is consequences or not. Choosing the right isn't just a motto, its a way of life.If you can CTR 24/7 you shouldn't have to fear anything wrong because you are going down the right path. Fear only stands in the way of achieving your goals, so you should be a good person with no fears. If you have no fear, you are more likely to be successful.You can accomplish anything when your'e heart is pure and fear doesn't rule you. If you do whats right no matter who is watching, you wont fear anything because you are choosing the right.

An act of kindness would be for example if there are no more seats on the bus and an elderly is standing up, you should offer your seat to them. Another kind thing to do would be to open a door for somebody if they are behind you.These are simple things that contribute to kindness , things you should do on a regular basis without having to think about it.

This quote means that when you are kind, you are a CTR person which exemplifies greatness and gratitude.If you are kind to others, you will also be treated kindly.One reason to be kind is because there can never be enough kindness in the world. The more kindness you give, the more kindness you will receive, especially in times of need.Being kind to others also gives you happiness within your heart, it can make you feel good.Also, if you are kind you will make good friends easier than you would with being mean. Another act of kindness would be to invite a homeless to a warm dinner, and allow them to take a bath in your house.Furthermore, you can donate to local non profit establishments to support the sick, or to support the community around you.On Christmas Day, I have always wished to buy toys, wrap them up, and give them to St. Jude's Children's hospital, because they cannot afford toys, and it puts a smile on their faces, it gives them hope.

An example of this would be if 2 people were playing cards, and one person cheats by taking a card from the deck and wins. The person who won the game lost all integrity, but on the other hand the loser of this game is still a winner because they did the right thing, so the person who truly loses is the one that cheats.

This quote means that it doesn't matter who wins at anything. but how you play fair and take responsibility. If you choose the wrong then that wouldn't be fair, and if you choose the right you will be a good sport and be the winner in the end.This quote can also be interpreted as a win is nothing without playing with integrity. If a person decides to CTW, and cheat then they really didn't accomplish anything at all.Even if you are losing at something you shouldn't CTW, you should just try harder and wish for best luck.Having integrity is more than having moral principles, it is also staying true to the person you are.If you do the right thing in a reliable way, you will always have integrity with you wherever you go.Integrity also means having wholeness in a character, so it reveals your true intentions. Having integrity also means to CTR 24/7.

You should always have the strength to say no when it comes to bad things such as drugs, or alcohol. Secondly, you should always say the truth, even if it comes with consequences. It is better to say the truth early, than to cover it up with lies that all lead to the truth. You should do the right thing to lead to happiness.It will also lead to success and honesty. But most importantly always remember to do the right thing.

This means that it is better to be a kind person than to be rich and famous.One example of how making a good name for yourself is more important than great riches is when a presidential election occurs. They are not the richest, even though it may seem that way, but they care more about leading our country.These presidents have been elected for the person they are, and not for riches.

Making a good name for yourself will always outweigh the value that money has. Money creates new opportunities and is very much needed at times, but money will not buy you a reputation nor will you gain respect from others if you are money hungry & the only importance is money.Creating a great name for yourself will always depend on social status and not on your economic status.Also, having a good name will motivate you to carry yourself with pride and have a good ego wherever you go.

"If your so-called friends urge you to do anything you know to be wrong, you be the one to make a stand for right, even if you stand alone. Have the courage to be a light for others to follow.

An example of this would be if your friends want to tag around school and you know its the wrong choice. In this case you should tell them that they are making a mistake, and if they don't listen to you then simply just walk away so you wouldn't be seen doing wrong things. Another way is to report something like this to a teacher immediately.
What this means is to stand up for what you believe in instead of letting others make the choice for you.The reason why Thomas Monson says "so-called friends is because if they influence you to CTW then they are not truly friends.You should choose the right when everyone else is choosing the wrong. Even if you are alone, you know that you will feed good by being a CTR person.When you CHOOSE THE RIGHT you prove to yourself that you are honest, trustworthy, and responsible !!! When someone else is doing wrong, you should encourage them to stop what they are doing.There are always 2 roads to take The best path you could ever take is the CTR path. The worst path you can go down would be CTR. Always choose the right to find true happiness.
