Student Success Statement
"If you do what's right, if you live the right way, you'll be taken care of." -Rachel Castillo

Example: If you know that you should pay rent on time, and you go to pay it at the bank, you will be taken care of. However if your bill is overdue and you pay it, then you will have to pay an extra fee. This shows how you will not be taken care of unless you do the right thing.

Reflection: What this quote means is that if you choose the right 24/7 then you won't have anything to worry about. Things will take care of themselves because things are set out the way they are supposed to be. Live your life, but live it right. Choosing the right isn't just a motto, it is a way of life.If you do good, you will feel good. If you do bad, you will feel bad. If you choose the right everyday, you will not need to worry about bad things happening. You could set your mind free because all good will come to you . Choosing the right is very important in everyday life.

"In life as in football, you won't go far, unless you know where your goalposts are."- Arnold G. Glasgow

Example: If you do not have goals set for yourself, you will probably not care about getting good grades in school. However, if you have goals already set for yourself, then you will push yourself to do better to achieve those goals.

Reflection: Goals are very important in life because they show what your future will be like. if you work hard everyday towards these goals and constantly remind yourself, you will be a step closer to success. People that are successful all had goals at one point, then by putting in hardwork, they finally accomplished them. No one is born successful, and success is entitled to no one. If you are enthusiastic everyday to learn and obtain new information, it shows that you are putting in effort to reach your goals. Goals are the first step towards becoming successful. Once you start doing your best at everything, you will be closer to success than you would without any goals.

"Only those live who do good." -Count Leo Tolstoy
Example: Those who are choosing the wrong, drinking alcohol or injecting heroin, believe that they are truly happy come from the effects these harmful substances have on their brain. This is a deception because true happiness only comes to you when you do good.

Reflection: The example above also relates to what Abraham Lincoln has expressed, those who do good feel good. He states this to show that if you do good, you will feel good. It also goes for if you do bad you feel bad. If you are a CTR person 24/7 you will find true happiness in your heart. However if you are a CTW person, you will not find happiness anywhere. Once you feel the goodness of Choosing the Right once, you will continue to do it because you will love the feeling. You will love the feeling you get of putting good out into the world. CTR isn't just a saying, it's a way to life. If you always CTR you will always be happy. If you CTW you will always be unhappy.

Student Success Statement
"What's right isn't always popular. What's popular isn't always right." Albert Einstein

Example: If there is 99 people at a party and you make the 100th person, that is choosing the wrong. You see people all around you smoking and drinking, which is choosing the wrong. Just because this is popular doesn't mean it is right.

Reflection: What this quote means is that even if most people are deciding to choose the wrong, you shouldn't fall under the influence of bad things. It doesn't make it popular if everybody does it, it just makes it wrong.Wrong is wrong even if everybody is doing it. Right will always be right, even if you are the only one choosing the right. You should be the person who chooses the right, even when the majority is choosing the wrong. You should be the person to go against the crowd if you know that you are choosing the right. You should do what you feel in your heart is right, instead of following a crowd of bad people. Surround yourself with good people, and you will be a good person too. You should choose the right no matter what situation you are in. Choosing the right will always make you a better person. You shouldn't agree to anything that is not right, or that you are not quite sure about. You should always abstain from choosing the wrong even if you are under pressure. If society's expectations follow the path of doing wrong, then create your own path of doing good. Choosing the right will always bring you success, rather than choosing the wrong which will bring you failure.

A choice: Poverty or Prosperity
"I hated poverty. Poverty is more of a choice than anything else, and I can change that (poverty). It depends upon how hard I want to work, and I decided that I would change it." -Dr.Ben Carson.

Example: You can be poor, but if you work toward your educational goals, you will no longer be stuck in poverty, you will be full of riches in life and in your heart.

Reflection: Dr. Ben Carson tells us that his family was financially struggling. He did not realize then that he had a choice of economic choice of status. In some of the houses his mother cleaned, she noticed other families and their children reading. She decided to make her children read as well. Ben did not like to read, but he began to learn many things. It was little after that he knew he could help himself out of poverty by working harder. He began to read more fluently, and apply sense to the world around him. He went from being the student in class that no one paid attention to, to the very top student! He after graduated high school and became a surgeon who separated conjoined twins. If someone is in this same situation, they should be inspired to work harder so that in the future they do not face economic struggles. In the future, success will bring you happiness to know that you studied so hard most of your life, and you reached your goals. When you focus on school, education offers many opportunities for us to follow the path of success. Just like Dr. Ben Carson was successful by doing good in school, I plan to follow his footsteps by doing my best in school.

"You cant be right by doing wrong, you cant be wrong by doing right." -Thomas S. Monson

Example: If you steal some flowers from the market and give them to your mom for her birthday, even though it was seen as a kind act, it was still wrong because he CTW in the first place.

Reflection:This quote means that you could never go wrong by choosing the right. Choosing the right is a motto to life. If you CTR 24/7 you will be happy in your heart & successful in life. If you choose the right you will not have feelings of being guilty. You could never feel good when you do something bad. When you do something bad and try to make it into something good, the final result will still be bad. You should think twice before you act on doing something that you should not do.Another example of this would be if you are stealing money from your parents. You should not steal because stealing is choosing the wrong. You could never feel good about yourself when you CTW. It will lead you down the path of failure in life. You should always CTR so that you will be successful in life and reach your biggest goals.

"Enthusiasm makes the difference." -Dr.Norman Vincent Peale

Example: Tigger shows enthusiasm while Eeyore shows a lack of enthusiasm.

Reflection:  What this quote means is that enthusiasm can change a whole situation. Having enthusiasm is a wonderful trait to have because it shows that you are eagerly ready to learn/do a task. Enthusiasm is the energy, the fuel, the blazing fire that brings about a successful result. Enthusiasm is like a magnet. It attracts to you those things that you set out to achieve. It creates the conditions for a successful result. It enables you to take advantage of the opportunities as they present themselves. Also, being enthusiastic can be fun, which is way different that being confident. Enthusiasm creates a passion in everything you do. In order to be a successful individual you need to be ready to listen with open ears, and learn with an open mind. Those who lack enthusiasm will get lower grades rather than those who have enthusiasm.  Enthusiasm is like a magnet. It attracts to you those things that you set out to achieve. It creates the conditions for a successful result. It enables you to take advantage of the opportunities as they present themselves. Enthusiasm is another example of choosing the right. It is important to always be enthusiastic so that we will always go down the path of success and not failure.
